east side?

Hi there,

I am an artist and I have been offered cheap rent in Buffalo, NY, where I've heard there is a flourishing artist community. I have never been to Buffalo and don't know the neighborhoods at all, but am assuming that this house may be a little bit ghetto. It is on the east side. Any feedback?

    If there is an address or cross street reference it would be easier to make a judgement on that.

      The house is on Cornwall Ave., near Hwy. 62 and E. Ferry St.

      Any thoughts?

        oh no..please don't go there.... drive by shootings, gang violence, drugs, etc etc... look for apts around childrens hospital, allentown, or give Mr. Dibble a call, he has some decent studios for rent for about $500 that includes everything.. and you are right in the artsy district on elmwood ave...

        but the BEST place to get a good apt for the money is still North Buffalo... my old apot at 1164 hertel ave might still eb available...i will find out for you, it was $475 Plus utilities...3 bedrooms, right next to terrapin station...

            btw...avoid anything that says rt 62 (bailey ave) it is close to UB, but that nieghborhood is bad now..I lived there when I went to UB and if you stay on the streets right next to the school, you are ok, but it is still a rough neighborhood...allentown is very artsy, so is the elmwood village and north buffalo...email a tribe member named tracker for info on his studios & apts on elmwood ave...good luck!
