What do you LOVE about Buffalo?
I lived in San Diego for 4 yrs and couldn't wait to get back here. I LOVE the food. I love thunderstorms on the lake. I love the Elmwood strip. I love the community- I hate the feeling of being lost in a big city.
C'mon, who's with me?

I agree totally! I don't think the seasons changing look as good as they do here, and buffalo has the best hand picked strawberry's !! Buffalo has a ton of good schools and though down town is hurting, I think they are making some very positive effort to bring it back to life.

What I love is that is where my Mom's family is from, the roots I have there. I love the good and bad times I had at Canisius College, I learned a lot there. I love the food, love how you can travel a little ways and be in some amazing places. I loved hearing the zoo on hot summer nights (elephants mostly). I love the history, I love walking in Forest Lawn Cemetary (highly reccomend it).

what do I love about Buffalo? um..er...not much..having lived here for most of my life...

the crime is out of hand, slowly but surely, all of the good people move out of the city ..I wil be happy to be among them in the next month, and I wil not look back and cry...

Yes, Buffalo is a nice place to VISIT..but if you lived here, you would think differently...and Buffalo's cutbacks in the budget allow even less for our city schools and police enforcement. violence is at an all time high...

yes!there are nice restaurants, good block clubs that do their best to improve their neighborhoods despite high gang violence & destruction of property constantly, great events, there were nice parks before most of them were closed... and there are still a good number of decent people here in the city, but for how long? the city does not care about it's people, how can the people care about it's city? Unless something changes, the few things that are nice here, will soon all be trashed or moved to a better city...like me...and my children... we're out of here! what is left here?

ok... Edritos made the BEST taco in the city, and Plate-O had awesome (and inexpensive) food! Sofra was wonderful too! but ALL have moved out of the city. so for now...Bertha's gets my vote, nothing beats our saturday coffee klatches there with Ilya and daveed & whomever wanders in.. Dave can cook up a storm!
North Buffalo has so far been the best city neighborhood I have lived in... but still. We can't wait to get back to Amherst....

I love the river and the lake. I love the Mather Arch in the Peace Bridge. I love the people and the land and the food. Most of all, today, I love our Fire Department. I live across the street from the building that Burned down on Chandler (the Old Phargo - which technacally is the old Weaving). Dispite a scroched face and eyes, and little sleep I am so happy the fire department managed to save all of our houses and it was no easy trick.

I love the Downtown Library. When you feel like hauling yourself downtown you can enjoy one of the largest attractions; the library. There more books, cds, movies and generlogiy(can't spell) than anywhere else.

I'm not there (in Buffalo) any more but:
    (1) I loved how people were just real.
    (2) I also really loved Delaware Park and the parkways. I lived near the intersection of Forest Ave. and Lincoln Pkwy. It was absolutely glorious in the summer.
    (3) I really enjoyed Shakespeare in the Park. (I'm hoping to hit it in July.)
    (4) Jazz on the steps of the Albright on Sunday afternoons were fantastic too.

The Anchor Bar has, or least it had back when I lived there, a live Jazz combo on Sunday nights. I would listen to great music for free while pigging out on wings and wick.

Buffalo/Niagara was a great place to grow up.

      Good people.

      Neat historical background.

The Falls on a clear day (Summer or Winter) is GORGEOUS.

      Active arts scene.

I prefer the Falls during the summer, less cold-more beauty. Too bad I haven't been there in years . . .

ok, the snow is pretty nice, and the change of seasons too, in CA you don't have fall and the changing colors of the leaves like here... it will be one of the things I will miss when we move in a few years...
and yeah... Buffalo has a very good cost of living compared to other cities...sorry I was bringing up all the bad stuff, there are good points to this area...especially now that we are out of the city...
