Re: Home sick
Tue, November 29, 2005 - 5:08 PMI lived in Buffalo 31 years and went from the Old First Ward to West Seneca. I'm very proud of where I came from, and miss the sense of old school ways that I learned and visioned when living in the city of brotherly love.
As life has it as well as with economic strangleholds I was forced more or less to cut the string and leave.
I went out in style for my beloved city. I was married then a week later moved to start my new family. I presently live as far north and east as you can go in Vermont. Buffalo winters are nothing. I honestly have experienced weather at 50-60 below zero and no wind chill. Like most former Buffalonians say they miss the food. I respond with a big HELL YEAH so do I.
One last note to ad. The weekend of my wedding I had my best friend from California fly in for the wedding. He grew up from SF to LA and the night we went out were were looking for an ole pub in Buffalo called the Blarney Castle. We got lost and so I decided to pull up to a person walking down the road. He was like what the hell you doing I'm like roll the window down. Well as it goes the guy was drunk but totally cool a typical Buffalonian in my opinion. My friend was so impressed at the fact that I had the guts to do this, and I just said I know no other way. Unfortunately it's been fours years since living there and I knew some areas were growing worse and worse and there were always homicide records being broken each year my parents told me that it's getting real bad.
But I will never hesitate to call Buffalo New York my Home
O yeah and I love the Bills
That besides the food and family is what I really miss. There is nothing like a tailgate party at the Ralph

Re: Home sick - c'mon home!
Fri, August 25, 2006 - 11:05 AMI heard something about this on the news or in the newspaper. I have to say....I'm a teacher and I'm having a hard time finding a full-time job but I just can't leave. I grew up on the west side as a kid, moved out to ellicottiville during HS and came right back. I'm still on the west side...upper near buff state and I can't imagine leaving the area. Its a great place :)
