i was just back in the Ruff Buff for a week visiting friends and family. man it gets worse everytime i go back, more ghetto and lots more closed out buildings and businesses.
but i had a real good beef on Weck in the airport. surprisingly tasty
but the best thing about Barfalo is definatly the food. had some mighty taco, jims steak out chicken finger sub, romeos italian bakery on hertel, santasieros on niagra, Kostas, la novas pizza. brought back some sponge candy for these southerners too -

Fri, November 19, 2004 - 6:45 AMBeef on weck, you got yer Charlie the Butcher, too, which you can get not only at the restaurant at Wherle & Cayuga, but downtown in the Ellicott Square Building, and at some of the Wegmans stores.
Good beef on weck at B.W.'s BBQ on Lake Ave. in Blasdell, too.

I still have close family there which I miss the most, and due to my reputation as a food lover my it's not uncommon to go to visit peoples houses and we order wings and pizza. Bocce,Carbones, Imperial, IMperial Taco(Think it closed) Mighty six back to go extra hot is my fav, and then you mentioned the SPONGE candy Thats a trip that no one I know has heard of it either. As for the beef on wick I actually went to school with the schwables not sure where he stands in the biz he was Craig. -

Thu, March 20, 2008 - 7:34 AMWe went to Schwabl's the other day and was very disappointed with their Roast beef, Arby's is better !
It was old and tuff and the kimmelwick were stale , yesterdays food reheated doesn't work at a restaurant.

Charlie the Butchers rocks for ANY kind of sammich.....there is one right next to the studio space I rent on Cayuga...I love Bonnie & Charlie, they ROCK!
